CSRA Precision Imaging, LLC is a locally owned commercial drone company serving the Central Savannah River Area. We work with property owners, roofing contractors, insurance professionals, hunters, and landowners throughout the Central Savannah River Area on both sides of the Georgia–South Carolina line.
Our FAA Part 107 certified pilot operates the enterprise-grade DJI Matrice 4TD, equipped with a 4K RGB camera and a 640×512 radiometric infrared sensor. Every job includes both RGB and thermal sensors aboard the same aircraft. For most commercial thermal work — including roof moisture assessments — RGB documentation is flown in daylight and the thermal pass is conducted post-sunset, when the roof has released its daytime heat and moisture intrusion creates clear thermal contrast. For solar surveys, both sensors are deployed simultaneously during peak generation hours. Scheduling is coordinated so both passes happen efficiently in a single site visit whenever conditions allow.
Our pilot is also an ITC Level I sUAS Certified Infrared Thermographer — formal training in thermal image interpretation that goes well beyond simply flying a drone with a thermal camera attached. This means moisture and heat-loss findings are read with proper thermographic methodology, not guesswork.
Before CSRA Precision Imaging, over 25 years were spent in property maintenance and management across the Augusta area — on rooftops identifying damage, in crawl spaces diagnosing moisture, and managing rental portfolios where knowing what's actually wrong with a structure determines whether an investment works. That background is the reason this business exists: aerial thermal data is only as valuable as the person interpreting it. The Matrice 4TD is DJI's flagship commercial imaging platform — not a recreational drone. Radiometric thermal embeds an actual temperature value in every pixel, enabling accurate moisture mapping and heat-loss analysis, while the built-in NIR auxiliary light enables covert night operations — thermal detects the heat signature, NIR illuminates for clear visual confirmation in complete darkness without the animal detecting visible light.
