CSRA Precision Imaging, LLC is a locally owned commercial drone company serving the Central Savannah River Area. We work with property owners, roofing contractors, insurance professionals, land managers, farms and ranches, and developers throughout the Central Savannah River Area on both sides of the Georgia–South Carolina line.
Our FAA Part 107 Certified Remote Pilot operates the enterprise-grade DJI Matrice 4TD, equipped with a 4K RGB camera and a 640×512 radiometric infrared sensor. Every job includes both RGB and thermal sensors aboard the same aircraft. For roof moisture assessments, RGB documentation is flown in daylight and the thermal pass after sunset, when the roof has released its daytime heat and wet areas can show thermal contrast. For solar, a color photo flight comes first, then a separate thermal flight in strong, steady sun, usually the next day, planned from the first, weather permitting.
Our pilot is also an ITC Level I sUAS Certified Infrared Thermographer — formal training in thermal image interpretation that goes well beyond simply flying a drone with a thermal camera attached.
Before CSRA Precision Imaging, 25 years were spent hands-on in property maintenance and management (more than 20 of them using thermal cameras) — on rooftops identifying damage, in crawl spaces diagnosing moisture, and working directly with property owners and managers where knowing what's actually wrong with a structure determines whether an investment works. That background is the reason this business exists: aerial thermal data is only as valuable as the person interpreting it. If you've spent decades dealing with the consequences of undetected moisture and structural problems, you see a thermal roof image differently than someone who just learned to fly a drone.

The Matrice 4TD is DJI's flagship commercial imaging platform — not a recreational drone. Radiometric thermal records an apparent surface temperature in every pixel, supporting roof moisture scans and solar panel inspections, while the built-in NIR auxiliary light helps the pilot see clearly in low light without using visible light.
- Separate color and thermal flights (solar: a color flight, then a separate thermal flight in strong, steady sun, usually the next day, planned from the first; roofs: a daytime pass and a post-sunset thermal pass)
